- Rich___Cheri_ExplorerHad to replace the roller tube on my power awning due to it being bowed from collecting water during a heavy rain. The motor would "stall" as it tried to roll in the awning and the bent section put additional stress on the motor. Unless the coach is perfectly level or down at the rear, the auto-dump feature of the awning doesn't get rid of the water and the roller will bow in the middle. I punched a hole in the fabric at the middle of t't fall outhe roller and about 4" in and put in a grommet. The hole is 3/8". Had a heavy rain last night and the water drained thru the hole and phe bolt canrevented any accumulation.
Also had the same shear-bolt problem and replaced with a schedule 8 bolt from local hardware store. Also wrapped the bolt and nut with duct tape so if the nut end shears again the bolt can't fall out. - saberExplorerroinhome, As a tip, I had my dash air checked and serviced at year one. It was working OK, but I was getting a bunch of other work done so I threw the air in too. While in New Mexico at a rest stop, with the dash air running, about the same as your 75-80 degree temp. When we got back on the road, it was freeze out. Really cold air coming out. Talked to a gent about a year later at an RV park and he had had a similiar experience. We attributed it to insufficient air flow through the engine compartment even with the fans running. On year 4 now and no problems at all.
- wa0mqeExplorerI've had the same thing happen on the front AC while traveling with the generator running. The front would go into Shed, the back one would work fine. I'd turn the front off and then later after pulling into a campground and hookup the front would be fine.
I've never been able to figure out that AC Load System. - Papa_MelExplorerAn update on the air conditioner running off the generator. I had a diagnostic test and found both airs will work with the generator but not the front alone. Fleetwood has a "lockout key" located by the refrigerator on the 37C. Of course, mine is not located there. Anybody have an idea where it may be?
Mel - Papa_MelExplorerI tried the generator running the air conditioner while coming back from Mexico. Strange, the air works great until I start the engine. It then sheds. It will flip back and forth and finally end up shedding. What gives?
Mel - rolnhomeExplorerAnyone recharged the dash air conditioning. I'm looking for the low pressure side valve so I can check to see if the coolant/freon is low. Setting in the drive it is only putting out 75/80 degree air.
Never mind found it right in front of me. I was looking too hard the first time. - Fyr_guyExplorerWent to the Power Gear site www.powergearus.com and the parts section was down for maintenance this morning. It will be easy to see on the schematics they have once the site is back up.

Fyr or Bricot, when one calls Power Gear for a shear bolt how do you refference or describe the bolt you need? I think a spare might be the way to go.

Its the nut/bolt on either side of the drive 'shaft' or 'bar' for the slide. On one end it attaches the drive 'shaft' to the drive motor, on the other end (gear side) it is the bolt right before the large cotter pin. These are the only two bolts that go through the drive 'shaft'. The shaft consists of 2 square metal metal bars that slide inside of each other to adjust for length. - bricotExplorer

Had a bolt shear off of one of our big slides last weekend when trying to pull it in.
What happened to indicate a problem? Were you able to retract the slide or did it get stuck in an extended position? Inquiring minds want to know all the details!
One of the slide was moving a little jerky, so I pushed it back out and then when I tried to bring it it, one side didn't move at all. - bricotExplorer

Got the pre-recall letter in the mail.
Had a bolt shear off of one of our big slides last weekend when trying to pull it in. Fortunately I had tools and found an autoparts store that had some grade 8 bolts that fit.
May see how much the new drive bar is since the holes were a little mis-shaped after that.
I suppose I should try and think of a parts list and get them now before their Chapter 11 status gets worse... Dang it, I really liked this coach and was looking forward to a new one...if hey ever incorporated bunks...
Any thoughts as to what caused it to shear other than just normal fatigue?
Pat
I think the nut worked loose and fell off, and as it turned the bolt started to slide out and was in one side of the hole and not the other and sheared.
I took the bolt/nut off the other end of the drive bar using my fingers.... Next time I have them all out I'm going to check them all to see if they are at least tight.
