Maxair fan not working

In my 2016 Winnebago Suncruiser 38 Q i have one fan. Max air with wall switch. It has auto temp and rain close. The lid raises and closes appropriately but fan does not spin. I had put an insulated pillow in last night so maybe pressed something in the controls on fan but can’t figure out what. Any ideas?

  • You may have one of those "pin" style switches at the top, that switch makes contact as soon as the lid is about 1/3 open. Check if that switch is stuck? or
    has corroded contact ?

  • Sorry, I misread yout post, please disregard my original post.

Not knowing which Maxxair fan you have makes it difficult to help you, from what I have learned about the Maxxair fans, you have switches to control the fan's functions. Follow their instructions for operation, you may find you inadvertinly pushed a control buttonn and turned the fan off.

    More info would help.

I think you need to take thr garnish off and find out where your fan is losing power. You have power to the open/close motor so you know the wallswitch is working, now you need to see where power is lost or the possibility that the fan motor has died.

You didn't say if the fan will rotate manually or not. The blade could have been forced into the housing and just needs to be adjusted for clearance.

You can try FantasticVent and see if they have any suggestion. I have heard that the customer service is not as fantastic as it was before it was sold but worth a try.
  • I have an older model with a bad remote. Can’t operate fan without it. But they no longer make the remote. So, no fan. Bummer.
  • Thank you. I don’t have the rocker switch or fan speed. It is different configuration but i am sure you are on the right track that somehow i pushed something. I did mess with the temp and that wasn’t it. It is warm here.
  • If yours is like ours, there are two fan off switches in the fan compartment along with the switch at the control center. One is a rocker switch that you could have easily switched off while putting in the pillow. The other is the dial that sets the fan speed; there is a 0 position.

Finally, if it is thermostatically controlled, is is warm enough for the fan to come on?

  • Is the fan motor running? If the motor is running but the fan is not turning the fan blade has a allen head set screw on top that you cannot see.

If this is the case it is easier to fix from above but can be fixed from inside.
  • Does your fan have a reversing switch? On some of those, there is a middle position that is off. Maybe a switch like that got pressed to off.
