Navistar has had a lot of problems with there Maxxforce 13 mainly used in OTR trucks, and gained a lot of deserved negative press for that engine.
Unfortunately a lot of people assumed that all of there engines we're probmatic. The Maxxforce 7 & 10 that they use in there motorhomes have performed well with very few problems reported.
I believe they had to do some computer updates to he MF 10.
This is true, only the big bore Maxxforce (11+) had issues and it was with the emission system not complying not engine problems. The Maxxforce 7 and 10 are great engines. There was an update the the ECM last year for the 10. I have about 12,000 miles on my 10 and have had no issues since the update.
As for the sale of Monaco I think it's going to be a great thing as the new owners are going to "try harder" to make it better. Since it's a stock sale all warranties will be honored.
One of the reasons I went with the new Monaco is because it looks different than all the other brands. When you see other coaches coming down the road it's hard to tell what they are, they all look about the same. The 2012+ Monacos and HR's are easy to tell, coming or going...
