Motorized Sun Shade

We bought a used Rv, the sun shade didn't work, so they installed a new motorized sun shade, but when we used it, found out that the only way you can put it down, is to stop, turn off motor to get it to go down, it will go up while driving, but not down, is this normal? We had it done out of state, so didn't want to take it back until we knew if this is correct. Thanks for any info
