- I agree with what people have been saying. I just want to add that the big killer for me seems to be wind. THis summer we drove across MN and ND and it seemed like there were 30 MPH winds the whole way. It seems to knock 2 mpg off me at 60 mph.
jeff - We get about 7mpg average. Last tank, we got 9.1. SPEED! I kept the bus at 55mph, and what a difference. Mostly, we average about 60mph on interstates, and 55 on local 4 lane roads.
