Need new spare tire carrier whinch

X-2, solid advice to mount under coach! Mounting a tire in back of coach above rear bumper will not be covered by insurance due to it causes too much extra damage if involved in any type of rear accident, regardless if your hit from rear or back into something, that's why there not mounted there anymore.

I want to dig this up again. I got pretty sick and could not follow up on the winch (in fact, the motorhome was not used all this time, I am just ready to get it back onto the road again).
Has anyBody found a good solution in the meantime?

Both you and the OP can use just about any of those listed on ebay or, found in your local wrecking yard. All it takes is a tiny bit of ingenuity and some light fabrication. Those little winches are seriously strong and capable. But, if you would be a bit skeptical, then use the winch to raise and lower the spare tire and wheel and, use a chain etc. for additional holding power to keep it up there, if you feel you need to. But, those work great if you've got the place to mount them and, an access for the crank to lower and raise them.

I checked out every one of them. None of them looks like the part that belongs to my motorhome.

Mine is on from the factory! The motorhome body has an access hole behind the license plate (flip down plate holder) with a rod in it that attaches to the winch.

I don't think Ford every produced the F53 with a spare tire which would account for the difficulty finding a replacement. Probably a prior owner did the mod.
