Also be sure the filter area is clean and you don't contaminate the fuel. My second filter traps 2 micron particles which is extremely small. You don't want contaminates in the fuel pump or injectors.
Given what you found I'd check/replace the filters in 3-6 months to help determine if you have a bigger issue with the fuel in the tank.
