Newbie - '90 Holiday Rambler Limited DP Water Tank Monitor

I'm looking for help on a 1990 HR Limited we're seriously considering, and really like, but have some concerns.
It's been well cared for, but has some issues that make us afraid it will empty our wallets. If we can figure out how serious these are, we will make an offer, or walk away. I'm posting several threads by item, to make it easier to answer. Hopefully someone here is familiar with these coaches, and can offer some advice.

The coach's Water Tank Monitor (which is also the Battery level monitor) has seen better days. Some of the switches work, others have torn covers, and don't work.

I'm not worried about the battery voltage monitors, I know I can replace this function with voltmeters. My concern is with the tank levels monitor section.

Are these standard monitors such that I could simply replace with another panel?
If I have to fabricate a new mount to get it to fit in the right place, I could do that, as long as the electricals are easy to replace.

Thank you in advance!

Jorge

  • Thank you!
I went to the website and saw that these don't just replace, but upgrade. Also seems fairly easy to install.

    Thanks again!!
I can strike this item off the "worry" list. :)
  • the propane should have a guage on the tank
you can use that until you replace monitor display

its a convenience issue, and anoying for it to be 'flaky'

but 'for me' not a deal breaker

The monitors are pretty standard, assuming they're the three or four light versions. Kib makes most of them. It's a pretty simple system, really.

For water tank levels, it's really not hard to learn to live without the monitor panel. Often the gray and especially black tank monitors don't work any too reliably due to crud building up on the detection probes.
  • there is after market ones like this i was looking into for our rv https://www.garnetinstruments.com/ that will do the 3 holding tanks as well as battery and propane
