NorthEast Beaches...help please

I am organizing a trip of 5 families, 3 RVs and two travel trailers. The RVs are being rented as myself and the other two husbands are trying to get our wives hooked on RVing so we can move on to buying our own. To make them "hooked" we are looking for summertime '14, northeast beach RVing suggestions. We are leaving out of northern NJ.

On the beach is best...almost required

PS. We are each two adults and two children 5 years and younger.

Thank you!
  • +1 for Assateage. Several of us do camp there every year. If it is still open I prefer the state campgrounds. They have hot water in the shower rooms and are very nice. We did a drive by of the Del. beaches and preferrer Assateage.

Them ponies may look cute but are are thieving rascals. Stole a friends birthday cake (carrot cake at that).

  • We like Assateage Island National Seashore in MD. No hookups there, but the State Park next door has a loop with electric.

If you go, don't leave food/drinks on the picnic table, as the wild horses like to scavenge.

x2 for Delaware Seashore State Park

Castaways and Frontier Town near Ocean City Maryland also have their own beaches on the bay, but they're a bit pricey in summer. Frontier Town has a water park and Wild West show for the kids.

And a great choice for young kids. Full hookup sites and plenty of activities for the young ones. A 15 to 20 minute ride to ocean beaches and boardwalk, depending on traffic.

  • Great link...lots of boondocking...but great. Thank you
  • Ha. That is what sells me! Plus I love camping. The "beach" aspect is to get them on board about the overall trip. I think/know once we RV they will love it, the beach makes them take the first step.
  • Can't you sell them on sleeping in their own bed and having their own bathroom that hasn't been shared by 10,000 strangers? Also, cooking is optional but everyone likes a handy fridge and microwave.
