I believe you are correct, but since the poster stated the battery mount up front, that means it was a gas model. Doug

Possible, but I do not remember DSDP until the 1998/99 model year. before that they were Gas. MADP and the London-Aire were the Diesel choices in the mid 90's. Possible there was a Kountry Star also in the mid 90's. Doug

  • You can take the word of Dougrainer. He has years of experience in service and especialy Newmars.
  • Typically you will have two separate banks of batteries, Chassis and House batteries. You're going to have to determine what batteries are what. Good suggestion above, Call Newmar, with VIN.
  • If the solar panel is Newmar installed. You will have a Dash indicator that is round with a red led light when charging. THAT solar panel is just to maintain the chassis battery when stored, nothing else. It is mounted above the drivers seat area on the roof and is about 12 inches square. IF you have other solar panels on the roof, they are NOT Newmar installed equipment. Doug
  • 1994 Newmar Dutch Star should be a Gas model. They used 1 chassis battery, up front. The other 2 slots would have been the 2 Coach batteries. Newmar installed just 3--- 1 chassis 2 Coach.
The area by the APU (Genset) may have been modified by a previous owner. BUT, Newmar used a Slide tray in the rear for 2 Coach batteries on certain Floor plans. IF the rear battery slide tray is there, THAT is where the 2 coach batteries were installed and they did not install them up front next to the chassis battery. Newmar NEVER installed more than 2 coach batteries on Gas models. Doug
