X-2, my manual, (written by Ford) says 5000, so that's exactly what I do. :)

I have owned ford's for 65 years. I have always read the manual that comes with the car. The manual with my e-450 says 5000 miles between oil changes unless in very dirty conditions. To me driving on interstate and paved roads is very clean conditions. and as rv folks I think most of us are in clean conditions.

So i vote for 5K every time even though the guy that changes my oil puts a sticker in my window to change it in 3000 miles I still wait for 5000 miles and my vehicles never use oil. My 2002 explore with 140,000 miles does not require even a half of a quart to top it off between oil changes.

We do the same with our MH as we did with our boats. Oil change in the fall when we winterized. This flushes the contaminates so they don't lurk in the engine all winter. We never drive more than 3K a year (for now), so changing oil based on miles doesn't apply.

Boats are a little different as you can't fire them up at all once they're winterized.
In 20 years of boating( and counting), never had an oil related issue. With MH and boats, we ALWAYS check oil level each time we go out.

If you are doing the change yourself, what's a few bucks (Mobil 1 Synthetic is about $25 for 6 qt. and Ford filters less than $5) twice a year on a very expensive MH? The kind of driving you do, dusty roads or long Interstate or very short local trips really determine when you should do an oil&filter change.

One thing you may consider if you want to stretch out the useful life of your oil, try changing the oil filter more often than the oil. especially when using high quality synthetic oils. My brother worked for a large truck fleet operator that used Mobile One and never changed the oil. just the filters and top off. of coerce they pulled oil samples as well but the bottom line is they had trucks with over a million miles before pulling them out of service. In the interest honesty I don't know what the filter change interval was but this is just an option or suggestion for you to ponder.

I have a 2013 Winnebago Sightseer 33C with a Ford F 53 chassis and a V10 Triton gasoline engine. I changed my oil about 4000 miles ago with Amsoil XL 5W-20 and a Wix 51372XP oil filter. It has been over 10 months since the change. I am planning to change the oil and filter at one year. Does anyone see a problem with this frequency? Some folks are telling me to change out the oil filter now and keep the Amsoil in until 10000 miles have gone by. They said that the oil is fine but a Wix filter should be changed out at 5000 miles or 6 months. does anyone out there have any experience with this. Thank you.

Ford put a 5000 mile interval in the user manual and service manual, and has since stretched that to 7500 miles across the board for trucks (but then, a RV is not used like a truck and will likely be serviced on time rather than mileage).

If a "service adviser" at a dealer is selling a 3000 mile oil change, it is because he is working for a commission. I hate that this has happened, but it is now part of the structure of the automobile service business today.

I had a 2000 V-10 in a 35 foot class A. Towed a Cherokee. CGVW was in the 25-26k pound range. Installed the Amsoil dual filter (regular filter plus a Bypass filter) at 7500 miles. Thereafter I changed the regular filter at 7500 miles and sent a sample for testing. I changed the Bypass filter every 25,000 miles. Between 35,000 and 45,000 miles I would get an oil analysis which recommended an oil change. At 127,000 the V-10 spit a plug and I had to pull the heads. Machine shop found no wear on the cams or valve stems.

An important point: the Bypass filter is a critical component of extended mileage oil changes. Without it I would change annually, or at the 15,000 mile point. Oil sampling is absolutely the best way to determine when to change oil. However, since the V-10 only holds 6 quarts the cost of an oil change is about the same as the cost of a sample analysis - less if you use a Fomoto valve and do it yourself. I currently have an 08 V-10 in a 28 foot class C. I plan to follow the annual or 15k mile change points.

I also agree that the V-10 is the best engine I've ever used -- well maybe not better than the old Volvo B-18 4 banger.

Did you even read my post? I made no specific recommendation. Just offered my thoughts and what I do with my own equipment.
