onan generator does not crank
just bought an 85 pace arrow with a onan generator. The generator did not crack at all, it only clicked.. I bought a new starter solenoid and now it click constantly.. see video.

- It may just be me but when looking at the picture of the solonoid you show I dont believe there is a wire coming off of it large enough to provide the starter with enough current to crank it. Is there a larger wire just laying there and not connected to the solonoid. See if you are getting voltage to the starter itself. If not you may very well be missing this larger guage wire. Just my thoughts Good Luck Larry

The wire is there.. just not very visible.. I've search the web and cannot find the location of the starter. If I get to it, I can test and replace as needed. Just not having any luck. I believe the entire gen sits on a sliding tray that after removing two bolts it should slide out for better accesss, but is not budging. I may have to live in it for a little while so, It's important to me to get the generator running.- Under the start/stop button.....is that a fuel line just hanging in the air?

Yes, I unplugged to move stuff around... The problem right now is cranking...

Crawl down under where you should be able to see and remove the starter, if you feel that's the problem. Sounds like you have other issues though.
- Have you tried to look up a manual online sometimes they have exploded views and you could find where the starter is from there. Larry

Ummmmmm, we had an ONAN in our 87 Pace Arrow that looked impossible until I crawled down under and found a space that allowed me to remove the starter. The problem in my case, turned out to be a stripped plastic gear that made it impossible to engage the fly wheel or whatever. Went to a Cummings Dealer for the part and we began our trip in the afternoon, rather than in the morning.- Sometimes you just have to pull it out to get to things. I have had to do that when they install them in a compartment. They cut a couple holes for ventilation and that is all. Larry
