Onan Generator Life

My last two coaches were gas, Onan generators and I changed the oil ever 100 hours, air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs every spring and I had almost 5000 hours on them when I sold the coaches. The only problem I had was the last one (2010) Onan 5500 was I had to replace the choke pull off twice on it. Other than that they ran perfectly. We race and sometimes the generator would run from the time we pulled out of the driveway until we got back home. 100 hours in one trip.
Our current one is an Onan 8000 diesel and it has over 5000 hours on it.

I believe the worst thing for them is NOT being used.
