Propane Smell

Hi all, I recently hooked up an extend a stay and all hookups are tight and everything flows nice and ignites, BUT I turned it off because I smell propane. Any clues to why this is happening..New to rv world. Thank you

  • I always get a whiff of propane when my tanks switch over.
  • Some propane tank valves will leak unless the valve is fully open or closed. Place to start is to make sure valve is fully open to see if you still smell propane. Mine was like that so before I filled tank again I had valve replaced. When I first called the propane facility they told me to make sure the valve was fully open, smell went away, valve wasn't quite completely open.
