We've owned both, and currently have a 34' gasser we really like. Is it noisier than a DP while underway? Sure! I've added enough sound absorbent though, that we don't find the noise objectionable and can easily converse with each other. Since nearly all motorhome RV'ers spend much more time living in their RV than they do driving it, we feel the floorplan is more important than the noise level. Does our Ford V-10 spin up to 4500 RPM on some hills? Yep... Does our speed drop to 40 MPH? Very rarely, unless that's the speed limit. But it always gets us there...
