Question on Winegard Traveler Cable Installation

DH removed a Winegard dome and installed the Traveler in a previous 5th wheel. He thought he could use the same connections, but it was totally different.

He ran the wires down through a vent pipe into the coat closet and installed the control box inside. Because we didn't have plug there, he then drilled a hole into the basement, ran an extension cord and plugged it in. The box was then mounted on a narrow shelf he added to the top of the closet.
