Yes, you can use a dab of caulk every 1-2 feet over and under the cable(s) and use this as the wire hold down, you can use a bit of Eternabond as suggested or you can get some cable clamps and screw and caulk the cable to the roof. All methods work just about as well but the screw down is the most permanent. Caulk over the plastic cable clamps if that's what you use as the sun will destroy them in a year or 2.
