The spot in my roof where I had to drill was just 7mm fiberglass -- not strong enough too hold those plate screws.

I cut a small piece of plywood that was just a little bit bigger than the plate itself. Then I glued the plywood under the plate and let to dry a day.

Then I screwed the plate into the roof and the plywood. It stuck.
