- Semi_Retired_GrExplorerKind of hope you're kidding. Grants Pass to Redding via I-5? Sometimes hear from students at OSU (200 miles north) driving I-5 to Redding for lunch at In'N'Out! Certainly no challenge except during winter snows (travelled the Siskiyous last week and no sign of snow - lowest accumulations on record they say). BTW - none of the several routes from I-5 to the coast are a challenge for a motor home.
- mookie6ExplorerNo I am not kidding
- PogoilExplorerNo problem at all I 5 is an Interstate. Routes to the coast are a little curvy. Just did the route from Redding yesterday cut across at Grants Pass to the coast. 34 feet towing a 4 door Jeep.
Traveled this route about 20 times.
Pogoil. - J-RoosterExplorerI've made this trip several times in the RV Towing all four wheels down with no problems.
- jsmartExplorerIt's freeway driving all the way, sure it's up and down and windy, but that keeps the driving interesting.
- murphysranchExplorerEasy and nice drive from Redding to GP. We've stayed in GP alot at a campground along the River.

Typical interstate highway..... BORING! Easy enough drive in about 3 hours.
I disagree. It's one of the prettier interstate drives I have seen.
Do check road conditions online -- the west has had an unusually warm winter, but black ice could still occur, depending on the weather and when you go. - murphysranchExplorerGorgeous drive! Thru almost dried up Shasta Lake, peering at Mt Shasta, thru Jefferson county, up and over long sweeping hills down into Ashland, then to Medford and right up the road to GP.
