I'd take it back to Winnebago and sit on their doorstep. Bug the heck out of them. They'll get you right in. When they say the slide water issue is fixed make them show you by a heavy stream of water from all directions aimed at it. I don't know about reimbursing you for your travel. You could try. The main thing is get it fixed and forget Camping World in the future.
After it's fixed make a nice siteseeing trip out of it and test it out before getting too far away.
Best of luck!!
This is not the time to go to Forest City and sit on the door step. This week Winnebago Industries is having their annual Grand National Rally. There are literally thousands of motorhomes in town and many of them have made appointments for service. During the week of GNR they will only perform a limited number of services on any one coach. The service bays are full from the time they open at 7:00 Am until the time they close.
The best course of action is to contact the service department by phone or e mail after the rally with a detailed list of things you want them to look at. You can also include information about the history of the problems and the attempted repairs.
They'll review with you the time expected to complete the repairs and schedule a time for you to arrive. When you arrive at the factory they'll discuss the problems, inspect the coach and give you a better time estimate for completion. In most cases you can stay in your coach. At the end of each day if possible it will be brought out of the service department and back to one of the campsites.
You can show up without an appointment, but don't expect immediate service. The service department schedules weeks and sometimes months ahead. Those who show up without an appointment are attended to on a first come first served basis after the scheduled appointments are completed. People who have made appointments are not willing to take a back seat for someone who just appeared at the door step.
As for reimbursing you for expenses don't expect it. Just like any other car or truck manufacturer their only responsibility is to repair the vehicle. - NHIrishExplorerForget camping world and most dealers for service. Find a good local mobile rv technician. Your issues don't sound like they need a factory trip.
- J-RoosterExplorerNo yet for me!
- wallynmExplorerIn 1999 at the dealers insistence the Manufacture picked up our coach and drove it over 1200 miles to there factory for manufacturing defects and then paid for our flight to pick it up and mileage to drive it back home.
Without the dealer we would have been SOL. The dealer is out of business and the manufacture was consumed in the latest round of bankruptcies.

Has anyone ever been reimbursed by their manufacture of coach, for traveling a distance of over 1000 miles to have them repair it, because local service didn't? - mema_poppopExplorerThanks everone

If the factory is wiling to fix your issue count your blessings. Many do not.
Amen to that. We just got ours back from the factory after a year of Camping World's excuses. To be honest, I had no desire to drive it from NC to IN just to get it fixed, but I am glad we did.
I read many posts where the selling dealer will put you first for service etc. In reality it all depends on how that dealership is run. We bought from an independent that was bought by Camping World right after our purchase. We specifically chose them because they were not CW and had a great reputation (that I could find) and what a let down. We had a 2.5 hour drive every time we went there for service. If I added all those trips up they would far exceed the 15 hours to Indiana.
In hind sight, if I do this again, I will compile a list during the warranty period and make arrangements with the manufacturer to get it all fixed at once.
I do realize I did not answer your reimbursement question but you have a good idea of what many have gone through in getting rigs fixed correctly. - mema_poppopExplorerWinnebago new exactly what is wrong with slide and the authorized dealer we took it to just put a bandaid on it. The authorized dealer 15 miles from here didn't want to touch it. They think we should take it to Winnebago too. Thank you everyone for your concern and input. We are stuck and frustrated in Louisianna!!!
- mema_poppopExplorerOur brand new 2016 Itasca by Winnebago has had the little minor issues you would expect. I won't go into those . We had to take it back to Camping World 3 times to fix automatic leveler . We have had it out only 3 times. The first time out when we pulled the slide in it was raining so we figured the water on the floor was from that. The second time out our slide went out crooked about a foot. Camping world never got back to us after 2 calls, so we called Winnebago and they said toggle switch to bring back in and take to service. We did service supposedly fixed it. Third time out to visit our daughter 750 miles away starts to rain and water on floor again while driving with slide in. We know many have water issues. But get to destination and same fixed slide goes out about 6" and stops. We have yet to watch the big screen TV because the slide covers it up. Toggle switch doesn't bring it back in. Go to sleep and smell something burning. Air condition on at this point. Realize spell coming from electric panel, lift bed and it is the wires we spell burning. My husband quickly unplugged electric from source outside. There are layers and layers of wires in there. Winnebago says their tech are master techs that only certain work on slides, certain work on electrical etc. Dealers work on different types you know Jack of all trades and master of none. So do we want to travel another 1000 miles to hopefully get it fixed properly. Problem. They have rally there now. Told us they didn't know when they could get to us. I could go on and on, but I won't. Hope this clears up for you
- Nutinelse2doExplorerIt's a 2016 Itasca. No repair centers without driving 1000 miles????
