Replacing Class A dash am/fm/cd changer

Has anyone changed out their old radio for a newer one. I am having issues with the cd changer intermittent working as well as the am/fm quit working. I need to replace it and the antenna unless something came loose behind the tv where all the wires are.

Any suggestions?

X2 Be sure it has USB, skip GPS and skip Sirius unless you like to pay to listen to babbling DJ's and self serving commercials.
  • I would also be interested in a recommendation by brand and model.
I had a replacement installed by a "car audio" place.
Total cost was less than $200.
It has all the features I wanted, including BlueTooth.

    The PROBLEMS ARE:
Operation is confusing; each button does about 6 different things.
The last straw was when the battery was disconnected to clean. ALL the settings disappeared except the pre-set buttons. So far, I've had to pull the book out 3 times to get my settings back. GRRRRRRRR.

I'm getting too old to put up with **** like that.
  • I bought a replacement radio from Amazon for about $30. No CD player - we don't travel with them anyway. I put about 500 of our favorite songs on a USB drive and just set the player to shuffle.

Not this one, but like it:

  • I agree with Jeff, Crutchfield is a great resource. I replaced my old double-din radio with a new one and they made it very easy (tools, wiring adapters, etc.). The problem these days is that radios have SOOOO many options that picking exactly what you want/need can be a challenge. :-)
  • For the cost of replacing my radio which broke I had a company install Sirius radio so I have radio while traveling anywhere without finding channels and I have am fm radio. Cost was quite reasonable.
