A relative of your friend, Smokey, went "gallomping" across the road in front of us on 211 today, Roy.
We saw him coming from a ways away and thought it was a big dog. When he got closer, we realized it was a black bear! - GMandJMExplorerNice use for it, Jonny!
- Jonny_31CExploreron my last coach I installed a remote controlled spot light. When I had to walk the dogs at night at the campground in the woods of Maine I would take the little remote and have the spot light follow me so I could see where the dogs made their deposits to pick up.
- tatestExplorer III'm not sure where I might use it with my RV, except that it might save me getting out with a flashlight to check on something. In the fifties, when spotlights were still pretty common accessories on cars, they were useful for checking house numbers when trying to find the house hosting the party. That meant the right spot was more useful, but you needed spots on both sides (also for symmetry of style) and a spot operator riding shotgun.
By the 1960s we figured out the a high power handheld spot worked just as well, and was a lot cheaper. - PogoilExplorerUse ours to light up drug dealers at Walmart. Oh forgot we don't camp there.

Seams the roof mounted spot lights became popular in the 90's. It was an option on a 1998 Newmar I once owned. I guess now if you want a spot light just buy a rechargeable, LED, hand held Brinkman.
Yeah, whichever one of us isn't driving could just run out with a flashlight and an umbrella. ;) - GMandJMExplorerLike that. Price is certainly right.
A spotlight was an option in our year coach. I wonder if that's one of the things they put in the wiring for whether or not it's on the build list. - fcooperExplorer

How do you change the direction on a rooftop spotlight?
There are several different models available, including handheld remote controls. The one I installed has wiring from the drivers area to the rooftop light, with an "up,down, left, right" switch for control.
The link below has a picture of the light and control.

Mine was a $99 craigslist special.
