Running HDMI cable

My 2006 Gulfstream Crescendo 38' was built before HD TVs.

it has a media center in the rear of the living room slideout. This is where the DVD/Stereo and switchbox is. Then they run RCA (red, white, yellow) standard Pin cords to the front and rear TVs (as well as standard stereo cables)

I'd like to upgrade the TVs but to do that need to run new cable.

Looking for ideas on how to run a new cable.

  • Sorry, I couldn't find my photos of this. But on the ducted A/C, if you have that, one thing I found was even though the last vents in the line were a few feet from either end of the motorhome, the air duct actually went all the way from the front cap to the rear cap. It was really quite easy to get a 40 foot HDMI cable and run it all the way through the vents. One of these days I'm going to upgrade my backup camera and run the cable through the same vent.

Don't cheap out I used several cheaper units that failed due to poor range or not able to pass copy protection. The iogear did the trick. 1 1/2 years now and working great !
  • Do you have ducted air conditioning? I just upgraded mine a few months ago and ran the HDMI cable through the A/C ducts. I put some photos on here, I'll see if I can find them for you.

  • Directv: Their Genie wireless system and a rooftop Winegard Trav'ler HD antenna will upgrade your entire bus. Genie wireless uses HDMI connectors to the TV's and being wireless there is not a need to run HDMI thru out the MH. I have it in my toy hauler and it works great.
