Rust-oleum paint roll on rv

Has try painting gel coat on Rv with rust-oleum roll on paint
  • There are some video's out there that show the technique painting the hull of a boat. When finished you wouldn't even know it was done that way had you not been told. A friend of mine did his boat, quite amazing of the results. It looked like it had been sprayed on. Now he didn't use Rustoleum but a boat paint instead with a foam roller. Can't remember the name of the paint though.
  • A foam roller and Rustoleum can actually make for a surprisingly good finish if done carefully. A little bit of googling will give details. Most people seem to thin it down a good bit with mineral spirits. Assuming it sticks properly to the existing finish, which I don't know if it would, I really don't think it would lower the value of the RV at all if done nicely. You don't have to tell any potential buyer you painted it in Rustoleum with a roller.

If I were attempting this, I would consider getting catalyst (and maybe paint) from Tractor Supply or wherever else it's sold. That makes for a harder finish.
  • I rattle can repainted the sun stroked black graphics with Rust-oleum. Lasted two years before the color started fading and changing color tone. Repainted again this spring with real automotive paint. Paint was $125 and the sprayer was $50. Roller paint, well hope you like the coach.

  • How much is your RV worth? Subtract $1000.00 from that figure and you will get a rough approximation for how much you will lose if you paint your RV with a paint roller.
