Starting to travel 2017. Keeping st/bricks to return some of the year. Don't want to pay for tv rates while house is sitting. Has anyone ever tried to Rv satellite and receivers in the house. Seems it should be no difference which tvs it is hooked up to. May only have small internet for home computers but no landline. Always trying to keep a reign on the travel budget. I would rather spend our money on the road to enjoy than wasting it on tvs not in use. Please don't laugh at us but any opinions would be appreciated.Chefalan/Arbonne Bonnie

I've had an RV account since 2002 and have used those receivers in my home when we're home. At one time the satellite providers required all receivers to be in one location but that requirement has seemed to fade away. It used to be in their Terms of Service. This was to keep someone from having 2, 3, 4 or more receivers and giving them to all their friends and neighbors.Anyway, I'm current home and have my new DTV Genie setup here and when we go in the motorhome they go with me so you're good to go with what you want to do. IMHO

The receiver doesn't know or care where it is as long as it's properly connected to a dish. Chuck

For several years I moved the receiver to the RV and back again. A couple of years ago I simply had Dish install a New Hopper and a Joey in the mh and kept it on the same account....called the MH a guest house. I think the extra cost is ~12.00/month give or take.

There used to be a requirement that all receivers on an account be plugged into a phone line. Dish (and DirecTV) would dial the number and if the receiver did not answer they would shut it down.
