rv window awning

I would like to get window awnings for my moho but it seems that the CW in Roanoke va is not interested in helping me. After one 40 mi trip and 3 phone calls nothing. Any one got any Ideas??
  • I bought A&E window awnings from Gamblers in Quartzsite. A buddy and I installed them.
They came with "Oscar" rivets designed for installation on thin material. They are like a regular pop rivet but have slots on the side so they collapse and fold out a larger surface for better retention.
It was not a big job but took a little care to make sure they were level. Gamblers installs a lot of them and recommended that I use a black butyl tape behind the rails instead of regular putty tape. They also recommended I use the next size up screws rather than the what A&E said and stainless steel as well.
After six years of full time use - sometimes in pretty strong winds - they were still working great.
By the way I considered them one of the best add-ons I did for my motor home.
  • CW has a very poor reputation for RV mods or repairs so you may have dodged a bullet with them not calling you.

Check at RVServiceReviews to find a competent service organization for your style RV and give those you find a call.

Of the 25 on Ebay I would think you could find what you need...$100-180. Not that hard to put on... install the top J rail and the two side arms plus the hook to hold it open. I would go 6" wider than the window on each end if you have the room.
  • Check with a dealer that sells your make of MH. They will be the most likely to help you. There are other dealerships and service parts and repair centers for your RV other than CW. Good luck.
  • Any full service RV dealership should be able to do it for you. They might need to order the right size awnings for you. We had ours put on by Tiffin mechanics after work hours in Red Bay.
