Saltless water softener

Well it may not be in your terms, but if you get more suds,clean sinks,pipes stay clean,water heater heaters and dishwashers. That last a long time but it works with no maintenance and runs on pennies at day something like 20 dollars a year. Who cares it works, no matter what you call it. I believe in it so much I even got the same version made foe RV's.

Thanks for the info. I am more interested in reducing the scale and harmful effects of hard water, than in actually creating soft water. I think I will give the unit a try and see ifit suits my needs. I really like not dealing with a huge softening unit and dealing with the salt. The unit in question isn't something that takes up too much space, and it seems to take very little maintenance.

The water conditioner has significantly reduced the spots and the scale that builds up on faucets and in sinks. The scale is not down to 0, but it is a very significant decrease. My shower curtain liner used to have to be replaced quite often because of the scale built up. I was replacing it at least every few months. Now I replace it every few years. I am very pleased with it.

First, the device is not a water softener, which reduces the levels of hardness ions (both calcium and magnesium) in water.

Stripped of most of the jargon, the claim is that the device causes formation of small particles of aragonite, a calcium carbonate mineral with a different form than the more-common mineral, calcite. In the aragonite form, the particles supposedly don't stick to plumbing materials and thus do not form scale deposits. Magnesium carbonate is much more soluble than calcium carbonate, so little if any magnesium ions form crystals like calcium ions do. Therefore, it would be more appropriate to call this and similar devices "scale reduction" systems rather than water softeners.

There is some evidence that some of these devices do reduce scale formation. I am aware of a study that measured the rate of scale formation on electric water heater elements. Many devices did not work at all, but one reduced scale formation by about 25% (the OP's device was not part of this study).

The main issue is that there is no agreed-upon independent testing procedure to prove scientifically that these devices perform as claimed. When there is, major manufacturers (like GE) will become involved, since chemical-free water treatment is the holy grail for them.

I use water king usa and it does what I want no white stuff in sink,dishwasher and lasted a long time before it,before that 2 years the first dishwasher 2 years tops now on 5 years and still going strong. Soap suds great it's electric as far as I'm it better then dragging in bags of salt. I would say it's is 75% effective and that's ok with me.

I purchased a NUVO system for my house and it works fine. Water is soft and smooth and tastes great. However, i do use a ZERO water picture for my drinking water as a precaution

I purchased the water softener for the coach and this is much more expensive so I will stick with the water softener for the coach.

I am just curious if you have checked the TDS at your house? I am assuming that there would be no change, but in any event as long as you notice that there is no scale deposits, that is all I would be looking for. When I am in hard water areas, I notice the hard water mostly on glasses in the dishwasher. Does it seem to prevent the deposits on your glasses and dishes?
