On calibrating the ScanGauge,
1. Do a 50 mile interstate drive, and measure actual miles driven to SG miles driven, either by mile marker or GPS. Do SG miles adjustment per instructions. Do Not trust the vehicle odometer. Also, speedometer and odometer can be off by different amounts.
2. Follow instructions, especially setting on diesel, and read the section on fuel cut-off.
3. Compare gallons required for fillup (station pump reading) to what SG calculates for gallons used, adjust SG accordingly. I do this every 3/4 months, or if your area changes winter/summer fuel. Also don't worry too much if occasionally there's a difference, it can be changes in the station pump pressure, whether the ground slopes rather than level at the pump, etc. If it is off over 2-3 consecutive fillups, then follow the SG adjustment instructions.
