Seabreeze Ford v10 vs. WorkHorse

Hi all, We are looking at a 2004 SeaBreeze 30 foot on a workhorse chasis. I currently have a trailer that I pull with a Ford V10 Excursion. I know that the SeaBreeze comes with either a Ford or the Chevy. I am really partial to the Ford. I love my Excursion, but I really like this 2004 SeaBreeze. What are the big differences? I drive that Ford. Who drives that Chevy? What comparison can you make, I've never driven one before.

Thanks
  • Both engines are fine but the Allison transmission usually gives the advantage to the Workhorse chassis.
The WH brake issue is old history from several years ago. It has long since been taken care of on any coach that has not been sitting for over three years.
  • I have a V-10. Just over 51,000 miles and no problems. Both the V-10 and Workhorse motors are good.
People say the Workhorse has more horsepower and torque. That may be. But...IMO, the problem is NOT making the motorhomes "go"....STOPPING the thing is more important.

In the past, there was something about the brakes in the Workhorse chassis. Investigate that and make sure the unit you are interested in has the update/fix.

    G'luck!
  • Back in 2003 when I bought my Workhorse motorhome I drove two identical motorhomes. One with the Ford V10 and the other with the Workhorse. The Workhorse climbed the hill better and with much less RPMs and noise. Needless to say I bought the workhorse and still have it and have never been sorry I did.
