Selling a Distressed Motorhome

Just be open and honest. Price it right. People appreciate honesty especially on big issues.

Make a concise list of the good points and bad points. That way buyers wont' be wasting their time and yours asking questions only to find out something is a deal-breaker for them.

This is the best way to list it.
Also If the motor runs fine I would add that to the description.

When the buyers come out to see it then is when you can go into detail if they request the info.

I would give the highlights but, tell the stuff that needs work. I would rather give it away than screw someone on the deal myself.

Sometimes a buyer might want something to live in and not drive far, so a good interior is all they are after. Sometimes they even have a roof already, if it's leaky. Other times they want a good dry unit, but won't be driving it so tires and driving might not be an issue either.

If it's unsafe for any reason, you should disclose that, but you want it gone so price it right. In your ad, highlight the good things about it.

For sale. Needs work.

Fixer-upper, as-is, where-is.

Pretend it is a sticks home.

"For Sale 1990 Overland motorhome Needs repairs, To Be sold as is"

Just say "where-is, as-is" and be free to let them inspect for issues.

I suspect in the price range we are talking, you will not gain much by quibbling with a line of people over the reduction in value due to old tires or a balky generator.

If it needs to be fixed up, put that in the ad. If you are selling it for $5,000 due to roof leaks, bad tires, ect. it will be listed as a fixer upper, and no low balling, as the price already reflects the condition of the 25 year old RV.

If the engine runs good, transmission is OK, and everything else can be restored, list it as that. List the mileage too, everyone needs to know that.
