- st687ExplorerGo to Ace Hardware and ask for a Zoom Spout turbine oiler.
- dstock50ExplorerNah, Never/Never use 3 in 1 veggie oil on any motor, most recommend 20 weight.
- ValkyriebushExplorer IIThanks all.
- howdy35Explorer IIHad the same problem with mine. Oiled, WD-40 and others. Finally replaced mine. U-tube will show you how and with some tools and general knowledge, you can do it yourself. Take it out, order a new one and put that one back in. Good luck.
- John_WayneExplorer IITo stop mine I had a little side to side movement on the motor shaft and the squirrel fan on one side was hitting the housing. I just loosened one of the squirrel cage fans and pushed both fans towards each other ( on mine there was a fan on each end of the motor) and retighten the loosened fan. Mine was an attwood furnace.
- RoyBExplorer IIWD40 spray will blow out debris perhaps and quieten things down for a bit but you really need to get some machine oil in the bushings...
Roy Ken - wolfe10ExplorerThe fan motors have BUSHINGS, not bearings. Though access can be a little tricky, you can put a couple of drops of non-detergent light viscosity oil (like sewing machine oil) on each end of the shaft and let it wick in.
Permanent solution is to replace the motor.
