- ComputerGuyInNOExplorerThanks for your input WildManBaker! I got a second electrician to go over and he quoted me 200 to replace the unit. He also said he would check all the connections at the generator level to make sure that wasn't what was causing the burning of the common side. Thanks again everyone for your help.
- wildmanbakerExplorerThe price seems like the electrician did not want to do it. There are a lot of 12 volt wires that must be labeled, removed and re-attached, but not enough to justify the high price you received. You might try an mobile RV repair to get a quote.
- That's just a standard 120 breaker/12 volt power center. The MAX at our shop would be $360 labor(3 hours). Probably closer to 2 hours($240). I would have to see it before I quoted 2 or 3 hours. An "electrician" has NO knowledge of these RV panels and systems. He is gouging you. The extra labor (1.0) would be transferring the old breakers and routing the 120 wires to the new panel since the new panel is not like the old panel. Doug
- Sully2ExplorerWhy does it say normal price is $235 on sale now at $215???
Somebody dont like you partner! - ComputerGuyInNOExplorerHe specifically said that was the price if I provided the converter. It is a power center / converter and charger. I called another electrician to get a quote. I hope it is more reasonable. I will keep you updated. Thanks again for all your help ladies and gentlemen.

If so, are you sure he wasn't quoting you a price including the new converter? Or are you talking about your "battery control center"? I'm not clear on which you're refering too.
- Two hours should not be over $200. That would even be high at $100 hours including an electrician"s truck. I would be looking for more in the range of $75 per hour. I believe your area may have even lower rates then here.
- ComputerGuyInNOExplorerThanks for all your help Enblethen. You responded to my other post about my damaged Atwood. I ordered a Boondocker from Randy at bestconverter.com per your suggestion. Randy said it is the same size and would just drop in. Remember all the burned wires in the Atwood? Anyway, I really appreciate all your help with this. I just cannot believe the quote I got from this electrician because he said it would take a couple of hours. Four hundred and fifty dollars an hour seems excessive. I called Steve's RV center in Lacombe, LA but I have to drive it over there before they will quote it. I was hoping someone who has had this done could give me an idea of the cost just for the installation.
- Need more information on what power center you are talking.
Make and model?
Who furnishes the panel?
A couple hours does not compute to the price quoted.
