Stink Bugs!

I have been pulling my hair out with stink bugs. I don't know how they survived over this last winter, but they are coming out like crazy now. I came across this article, and I thought I would share, as I am sure I am not the only one pulling his hair out with these little buggers.

Stink Bugs!!!
  • They are really disgusting. We had lunch at the home of friends in Virginia the other day at the top of the Blue Ridge area. My dog ate one and had "stink bug breath" for a while.

Thanks for posting that article. I'll forward to them. They've been battling them for years now.

Last year I got some aluminum screen and aluminum tape and screened all the vents for the refer, water heater, furnace, MW etc. Any place that had a vent. I did it from the inside of each panel so you can't see it. The aluminum can resist the heat from the applicances. It's helped a great deal.

I'd go easy on that aluminum screening. I did the same thing to all of my vents and found that it restricted the flow just enough to cause a serious heat issue. It was the screen on my water heater that caused extra heat to build up at the exhaust. It melted the area just above the water heater. I only noticed it when my young daughter leaned up against it and got burned. Her burn marks matched the pattern of the screen. Yes, I felt like a crappy dad:( and, yes, I removed the screening at once.

With that said: they do sell screened inserts for various rv components. The screen area on those inserts seem to be more spread out and would probably vent better and cooler.

I should have said I modeled mine after the store bought models including the rounded piece over the exhasut. 1 year and no issues.

I think I cleared the entire way from Ft Meyers to Tampa on I75 North. At least that's what it looked like when I stopped and looked at the front cap.

  • We had hundreds of them between our slide seals after a couple weeks in the fall in Delaware. Had to vac them out before closing slides....then kept finding the odd live one for a year or more. Still finding dead ones. Not a fan.
