Stuck in the bush . Slide out will not come in on RH side

[email protected] is their email address. I thought this might help rather than call them on the phone from where you are located. My guess is the sheer pin broke if you can hear the electric motor activating. I have never lost one but do carry spares just in case.

Not sure about Tiffin, but maybe it has a safety switch like the Gulfstream coaches that will not allow the slide to come in unless your driver seat is all the way forward to protect the driver seat from getting hit by the slide when drawing it in. Like I said not sure about Tiffin coaches, but I thought I would mention that.

There are 3 kinds of slides that I have seen and in theory should be a 4th

Cable cars: I'm big enough to just manually PUSH the dang slide in
Rack and Pinion (Such as Power Gear) There are several failure modes.

ASSUMING no pins are sheared you can release the brake on the motor and using a 3/4": Wrench on the nut that SHOULD BE (but is not on my coach) on the end of the shaft (usually right end) pull it in.. Or just flat push as I do.

Hydraulic.. There should be a manual override valve, or if all else fails disconnect hoses and push.

In all 3 cases you need to secure the slide so it does not come out on the road.

The 4th kind would be a screw drive, this one will have a manual crank hole as well, get cranky.. I've never seen one but the logic is there.

Mine is an electric driven slide, 22' long on the driver's side.
It's made by PowerGear, the least customer friendly company I've encountered.
I found the manual, and there's a "manual retraction adapter" that slide over the end of the motor shafts that allows you to attach a 1/2" ratchet to the shaft and crank the slide in that way.
There are 3 motors, and each has the brake lever (engage/disengage) on the back of the motor, so you have to disengage each motor, and then move motor to motor slowly cranking the slide in.
My rig did NOT come with the adapter, but I had a friend make on out of hardened steel stock, made three of them, so I can leave them pinned on.

Really stupid, stupid design. Why not just square the end of the shaft so a socket will fit on? THAT would make the system much more serviceable.

Must be some way to push the slide out back , very little in the Manuel about the slide , may be Tiffin can tell me ?

Managed to over ride the computer but only one motor will work and the other no go

there is usally a small lever on the end of the motor that releses the brake and it will probally push in ..AFTER you relese the brake . put it back on...or watch as it may slide BACK out on the road !!

If you can hear the motor running and the pinion gear turning then you have striped the aluminum pinion gear or the shear pin has sheared off and needs to be replaced. But you should be able to crank the or push the slide in manually. Find where the crank is located, then get somebody to press on the button inside the coach and it should come right in.

But if it is not doing anything and the motor is dead, then you have a circuit breaker that got tripped. On mine it is on the second to the last compartment on the passenger side there is a circuit breaker in there that will trip. Reset it and the BR slide should work.

Is the motor turning? If not, is there a separate fuse for the slide motor? (both my current and last rig had this). If so, check that fuse.

If it is turning, the odds are good that a shear-pin, connecting the motor to the drive, has sheared.

Can you hand-crank it out? (you might have to hand-crank it back in too, so only a bit, then check to see if you can crank it back)
