synthetic oil
I have a Ford Triton V10 and it calls for 5-20W synthetic blend. I can get a really good deal on Mobil 1 5-30W full synthetic is this ok or am I going to have issues with the higher weight?

- My V-10 calls for 5W-20 and I will not use anything else. Brand is irrelevant if it meets the API and Ford standard
- Walmart has Motor Craft 5-20W synthetic blend.
- My V10 specs call for 5-30 and I use Mobil 1 . It is a 99
- Looks like it's a big NO from me too.

You can get 5W-20 at Walmart. I bought Mobil 1 there for the wife's Honda- no idea what year your unit is, but I would stick to specs especially if it's under warranty.
- I wouldn't change to a different oil if someone gave it to me. The oil spec'd will give you the best performance, why chance serious problems with something else?
