This ought to get some controversy, have looked at both the phaetonand the Winnebago. Like the cockpit better in the Phaeton, but haven't found a40' with recling chairs. We don't like the two couch thing. The Winnebago has the chairs. I like the Phaeton better? DWlikes the Winnebago 40U. I believe the winnebago is cheaper.I'm sure there lots of opinions. THANKYOU

Not sure you could go wrong with either one

Before making a final decision you might want to check out the Tiffin Forum. There are a lot of very knowledgable folks there and you will get pretty much the straight scoop on Tiffin. All of the quality control issues that Tiffin is having and their customer service are a very large concern. But the best advice is to check out that forum and the issues that folks are having and make your own determination.

Tiffin will delete a couch and replace with 2 recliners.

my BILs older tiffin had a rubber roof. don't know if they now have fiberglass or not. that would kill the tiffin for me if it still has rubber/TPO.bumpy

how tall are you? I am 6'2" we just traded our 40u, it is a great coach very few issues drives great but if you are over 6' tall you will not be able to sit on the toilet with the door closed(which is a big problem for me when guests camp with us) on a positive note one can watch the tv while seated on the toilet (don't want to miss a play)

wouldn't body width more than body height affect this more? :)

You just can't beat the refinements in a Tiffin. I personally liked the Allegro Bus, but ultimately went with a used Country Coach (could not beat the price). When we look to trade the CC, Tiffin and Newmar will be on top of our list with Winnie a short distance behind.

I will be looking at new next time, and I cannot afford a new Country Coach (I hear they are starting manufacture again this year) I suppose there is a chance we will look at another used, but we really were hoping for new. If my wife picks the right six numbers, then I would not hesitate to get another CC.

Be sure to check out the quality issues on tiffin. There has been a lot of posts about multiple trips to the factory. Has the flooring issues been resolved?

I would actually be more concerned about the roof cracks that have been a major issue. Some people are on their third roof repair. With Tiffin's change in scheduling for repairs some folks have literally spent weeks in Red Bay, AL.
