From my research, only two manufacturers make RV tires..Goodyear and Michelin...the rest are truck tires. It's up to you what you put on your coach. While I'm not an engineer, my understanding is that the RV tires have different compounds that better support the RV lifestyle. Truck tires are designed for longer mileage so should be more robust. You sacrifice comfort for mileage, IMHO. Lots of posts, lots of opinions.
My opinion.?..do your research, as you're doing here, just don't sacrifice safety and comfort to save a few bucks..sometimes we step over dollars to pick up dimes......Dennis
Only 2 specific tires from two manufacturers are marketed as RV tires. The Michelin XRV and the Goodyear G670. I say marketed because basically all the tires we use are truck tires by design. There are not enough RV tires sold to support the engineering when compared to the number of tires sold to the trucking industry. Both these RV tires have had issues over the years they have been produced.
I'm unconvinced that when running tires at 100 psi and above that tire design makes any difference in ride comfort. I look for an all position design from a major manufacturer in the correct size and load range. There are several to choose from.
