- EffyExplorer III have the flow through and 2 of them can't be aired up - so technically they don't flow through. They monitor well enough but I have to remove them to air up which sort of makes that feature pointless. TST agreed to replace them I just haven't sent them yet.

I've had both (TST brand...great folks) and nothing but flow through from here on. When you're trying to get the exact pressure with non-flow, you air - take off sensor and check - re-air - etc. etc. I'm lazy and if I have to do all that I take short cuts.
If you're adjusting pressure with the non-flow thru type, why wouldn't you just take it off and use a regular hand gauge until you had the pressure you wanted?
You will have a difference in pressure readings from your TPS monitor and what your air gauge says, mine is a couple pounds off, which in my opinion is not going to matter.
with the flow through, you can add air and use your TPS monitor to get an "exact" reading.
I am not going to be worried about if my tires are a couple pounds off - 427435Explorer

One should absolutely install metal stems to use the sensors. The sensor weight is enough at higher speeds to actually pull the rubber valve stems out over time. - conceptumatorExplorerAgree with what other folks have already said. I have the TST507 with flow through on the MH and standard sensors on the toad. As already mentioned, the flow through sensors are longer and having them on the Jeep toad just didn't seem wise. On the MH, they work great. I do take them off the toad when we're not on the road as those wheels are much smaller and that added weight does seem to be felt when driving at higher speeds (could be just my imagination, but why risk it?).
- KarenS144ExplorerWe just installed the 1A1 system from TireMinder on our coach & Jeep. Easy install and a bit more piece of mind. We did not get the flow sensors. How often does one adjust air pressure?
The Jeep doubles as a toad & daily drive and we remove the sensors when it's not a toad.
The one thing we noticed on our 1st trip with the TPMS was how hot the front right tire on the Jeep gets. It's closest to the exhaust from the DP so I suppose that shouldn't be surprising. - zman-azExplorerWent to moab last year. On my way I had two flats on my trailer in Monticello. One on the way up and one on the way home. You can not feel flat tires with these big rigs like you can with a truck, tpms is a must have.

I have the non flow thru TST sensors and the reason is that the flow thru sensors are slightly longer and would extend past the edge of the steel rims on my toad and may cause a problem with hitting a curb or something...
X2 I first tried the flow thru TST but was concerned about the distance they extended past the rim of the wheel of my truck tires.
I go off road and was concerned if I got into deep mud or snow the flow thru sensor would be damaged.
I use the standard sensor and have not had to adjust pressures more than a couple times a year. Removing the sensor is not much more effort than a valve stem cap. - gsf35099ExplorerAs someone already mentioned, if you have the room to install the flow thru, it's less work to adjust air pressure.
I've had the TST 507 non-flow thru now for several years & appears the batteries last about 1-2 years before needing replacement.
