Shell ATF134 1-L 9.50 Amazon $9.5/Lt - Gonzo42ExplorerThis discussion prompted me to start looking for a transmission cooler for us in the event we decided on a trailer.
Today I went out and had a look, and guess what? Our unit already has a transmission cooler (apparently OEM). Its in front of the radiator, on the left, with its own fan.
Part of my search involved finding the correct transmission fluid, since it seemed like a good idea that if a transmission cooler was installed, it would be a good time to change the fluid, which normally is scheduled to change at 80K miles. Does anyone have the correct M-B spec number on that fluid?
Its the M-B Spec 236.14. See the spec at: http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/236.14_en.html
These are available at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Mobil-112980-CASE-Synthetic-Automatic-Transmission/dp/B009IE2R0U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1392607978&sr=8-4&keywords=Mobil+ATF+134 - EsoxLuciusExplorerAh, thanks!

That doesn't look like Sprinter RV to me.
You're right, but ANY vehicle towing a large load or hauling a large Load (IE Sprinter chassis with a Motorhome pulling an additional weight) can benefit significantly from the addition of a tranny cooler, which is what I was pointing out. - EsoxLuciusExplorer2006 Gulfstream Ultra 6331

It's a good way to get rid of the extra heat (towing, hill climbing, etc), especially if the cooler can sit in front of the rad (or near good airflow) rather than rely on the bottom of the radiator to cool the tranny oil.
Our rig didn't have one and we started monitoring temps last couple years, and after running in the 260 range too many times NON-towing, we decided to spend the money and have one installed.
All the other vehicles I have that have coolers run lower temps in the transmission, even towing.
If you aren't very mechanical find a good TRANNY shop, should only take a couple hours. - EsoxLuciusExplorerhttp://sprinterstore.com/transmission_products.htm
I'm not sure it is necessary for towing a Liberty. I'd evaluate your transmission temps while towing first before spending potentially $800 to have a transmission cooler installed.
Edit: I just noticed that the towing capacity of the 2007 Winnebago View is 3,500 lbs. You are over that towing a Jeep Liberty. So no, do not install a transmission cooler and do not tow a Jeep Liberty. - DakzukiExplorer

2007 Dodge One Ton Winnie View with Mercedes Diesel, 3Ltr-V6-150 Hp, Turbo Diesel engine. Can we put an after market transmission cooler on it for towing a Jeep Liberty?
Yes you can. - mlts22ExplorerIt is a very good idea to do that. I'd check the sprinter-source.com website for better details. It can mean the difference between handling hills and mountains versus barbecuing a core part of the drivetrain.
- Gonzo42ExplorerHi. We are also new RVers and have a Winnie View. Chassis is a 2007, body is a 2008. California has an odd rule on this at the DMV but thats a another issue. Trans cooler an interesting issue. We have thought about a very small enclosed trailer for a tricycle.
I'm always looking for ways to enhance the storage. I currently have a cargo carrier and bag on the rear receiver along with a bike rack, plus a kids bike rack on the ladder.
Oh, and welcome to the site.
