Waste Macerating System

just be sure if you need permits, etc. that you are installing a clean out, NOT a RV dump.

OK my friends, the job is done. I needed to move the motor home closer to the house to get my 3/4 inch hose to reach the sewer drain which turned into a nightmare because the ground was wet and we got stuck in mud up to the axle. I tried using the rear hydraulic jack to lift the tire in order to put something under the tires and the Jack sunk into the ground at its full length. I spent two hours digging it out then filled the hole and called for a tow. I guess the sewer issue was not my biggest problem compared to that. Well, the hose and macerator is doing a fine job so thank you all for your responses. Total length of hose needed was 75'.

One of the funniest malaprops we ever heard was from a salesman who raved about the fact that the rig we were looking at had an "emaciator" We laughed then ran!

If it is downhill all the way then it should be just fine. I would use "at least" a 3/4" water line. Everything runs downhill just fine as long as there are not "ups" along the way.

The house outside sewer access is at least 300 ft. away but I have shortened the distance to 200 ft because of the information you all have shared. I still need to purchase the macerator so everything is still in limbo for now.

How close to the house? 300'? If you're parked close to the house, look for the drain cleanout. That's what we use when "camping" at the kid's house...Dennis

Thank you all for your responses. The lot belongs to a friend who has kindly offered to let us park our motor home close to the house. We are full timers. The house has a sewer access port next to it but too far away for the usual hook ups. I think the macerator is my only solution but don't want any surprises if I go this route so your suggestions are really helping. I will post my findings once this project is finished ??

Elevation difference plays a part in the equation also. If you use a large enough pipe size that does not create any friction loss, you can pump for miles - on level ground. Myself, if the RV site was going to be there for a while, I would install a small septic tank and leachfield.
