- woodworker414Explorerwandasone, if you come down I55 to the lake, honk as you go by, we are located in Crystal City, Mo. about 40 south of STL.
Have a great trip, the lake area is really neat isn't it. Its been years since we camped down there, gonna to have to go back.
Bill - wandasoneExplorerLooked in my heated workshop at the pile of stuff we purchased over the winter to put in our Winnebago Adventurer. First major trip out in two weeks to Kentucky Lake area. Going to have to bring it out of the pole barn and plug it in for a few days. Then decide where all the new "stuff" will go. Hmmmm, probably should of waited but winter in Northern Michigan is long and cold and snowy (120ish inches so far) the internet so easy to use! Happy travels to all!
- woodworker414ExplorerAurabit79er, we are a lot a like, I tend to think that I can salvage anything. I guess being a carpenter and cabinetmaker for more than 40 years probably has something to do with it. No hill for a climber. Right. Today I went out to look at the rooftop antenna. The previous owner wiped it off the roof and who ever repaired it use parts from two mfg's and that does not work. Well got the thing rebuilt and while at it, I upgraded it to a hd antenna. My son in law helped me do the work. I have a serious vision problem. Well the last time out for a day tripe a couple weeks ago. Saw that the roof was leaking around the antenna again. Darn. order some Eternabond tape. A couple of days agoi I got out the ladder to look at the roof had the son in law there also. The plywood first ply had separated,DARN. So today, I bit the bullet and cut a foot long slice in the robber roof and spread it apart to get some air in there. Late tomorrow I will reglue the ply with contact cement and close up the roof and put the Eternabond tape over the slice and all around the base plate or the antenna. I also found on the base plate where coax goes through that the rubber boot had come up off the nipple that sticks up from the base plate, put that back on and put a hose clamp on it. I think that this time the water was coming down that nipple, probably when the snow was up against it. We shall see if that was the spot. I suppose to rain Sat.night and most of the day Sunday.
Bill - tenbearExplorerFinally, after chipping away at it for the past 2 years, I have replaced all the interior lights in the MH, and the porch light, with LEDs.

Bill I wholeheartedly agree, there's nothing like finishing a project on the old coach, because now you get to start a new project. I bought my girl 10 years ago and I made a list of things to do. My first list was two pages long. I got it down to a page and a half now. It was a priority list the top of the list was mostly mechanical. I did have to do some coach priority issues though the ceiling or I should say roof around AC unit was collapsing in when I first bought the Coach. When you walked in you in your head on the AC. it was a major repair but not too difficult. The headers were broken in front and behind the AC unit. So I made two new ones by laminating 3 pieces three-quarter inch plywood. I cut the top of the header with a slight curve to give it about an inch rise higher than the original roof. so everything went back up into place. One of the benefits is no low spots on the roof any more to trap water. I used expanding foam all the way around the outside of the AC unit before I put the AC cover back on. I used the white melamine paneling from Home Depot to replace the paneling I tore down in the ceiling. That made it a lot brighter plan on continuing the melamine paneling throughout the coach. After a few days I noticed the cabinets were starting to sag. So I had to lift the ceiling backup and I built support legs between the counters and the cabinets.
That stabilized the roof and cabinets.
And that was only number six on the original list.
My coach is job security. - woodworker414Explorer62Doka, I myself always get some pleasure our of being able to mess with something on the C. For me it does the heart good.

Im starting to see a trend here. It's like tinkering with our 58 vw bus, always adding, changing and fixing stuff .......but I love it! - Larry_SandersExplorerBringing it home today and getting ready for Daytona!
- applegaterExplorerStopped at Ridgecrest,Ca and had the Tireman replace my valve stems with solid stems after experiencing a sudden loss of an inside dual that had a valve extension installed by another tire shop. Worth the money when you experience a loss of inside dual when going down the Siskiyous on I5!
