- Just_JeffExplorerThe black tank vent cover seems to be working well. It's funny, though...if you're outside the RV and the wind is blowing when someone flushes, sometimes you get a pretty raunchy smell outside. But it dissipates quickly b/c it's outside...it would take a while to dissipate from inside the RV.
Here's the one I installed: Camco RV Cyclone Sewer Plumbing Vent
Also got the small inverter installed. It's a 400W PSW next to the batteries. I got an outdoor 15A extension cord and ran it under the RV and through the floor, coming out under the dinette. I cut off the female end and wired it into a residential outlet box. We just run an extension cord from the TV to that outlet while we're driving, and plug the same extension cord into the normal outlet when we're on shore power.
I put that one in b/c the inverter that came with the RV is MSW, and it's wired to only one outlet...the one that is disabled when the engine is cranked. Now the boys can play PlayStation and charge their computers while we're driving, without running the 2000W whole-house Magnum inverter.
And this little one isn't really permanently installed - just unplug the extension cord and disconnect the battery cables and I can use it anywhere I want power. - SWDExplorer

Just got the MH out of the shop (Highway Trailer Sales) today. They replaced the AC W Heatpump, Shore line cord, Black tank valve, and a part in the awning. The great thing is our extended warranty paid for all except the $200.00 deductible. Now we are ready for our trip to Trout Creek Oregon.
Your post has restored my faith in extended warranty plans. So many people in this forum do their own work that I was starting to wonder if I were the only one here who would just rather let someone else do it. I used to enjoy working on cars and fixing things but now I find that I have neither the patience nor the desire. I get half way through a job and find that I need a tool that I don't have and the cost to buy it for a one time use is too high to justify. Or, something that should take 30 minutes or so turns into WAY more time. So I make sure I do all the preventive maintenance and hope the EWP is worth its salt when I need it. While I miss the satisfaction of having done my own repairs, I can still enjoy the trips. - pianotunaNomad IIIStarted a three week business and pleasure trip. It will total almost 4000 kilometers

Looks great!
I also applied 5% window tint to the cab over window. Now THAT was an exercise in contortionism!! - gearhead143ExplorerJust got the MH out of the shop (Highway Trailer Sales) today. - Just_JeffExplorerWe've put 2500 miles on it in the past week, and we get some pretty raunchy smells if we flush while we're driving down the road. Today I put on one of those vent covers that's supposed to keep the air flowing out the vent pipe instead of through the pipe into the cabin. I hope it works well.
Also got a 400W inverter and parts to wire it tomorrow. Need a small one that only runs a couple TVs and charges a computer. - tenbearExplorer

Hi,
I finally bowed to the inevitable. I purchased a Yamaha 3000 iSEB generator. I could not figure out how to get enough solar panels on to run the air conditioner.
Surprised you didn't just tow a trailer with lots of solar panels on it. :W - tenbearExplorerDid some caulking around the bathroom sink. Things seemed to have moved around a bit. Must be due to the 5.4 earthquake on the Richter scale while going down the road.
- Navy_SmokerExplorerFilled the fresh water tank and did a preventive maintenance run on the generator in preparation of a trip next week.
