- Mich_FExplorerI just picked up my newer Itasca from my brother's warehouse, where it's been sitting since Aug. 5, the day I got back from four days in Orlando, as well as the day before my hip replacement surgery. It's had plenty of time to dry out and have the cabover area resealed where it was leaking. I was not a very happy camper when I discovered that my year old MH was leaking.
Friday I'm going down to the Keys for four days. Hopefully this leak is fixed. - pianotunaNomad IIISpent four hours cleaning. Man did it need it!
- bob_and_donnaExplorerSadly put it away for the fall, winter.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Started cleaning the pass through storage. Of course, it rained. - KristinUExplorerNothing huge, but some fun little mods today: a bathroom light switch, 12v outlet in the storage hatch (for our thermoelectric cooler - cheap way to make part of an "outdoor kitchen"), and added a magnetic strip in the storage hatch for s'mores forks.

- snowdanceExplorerLoading for a trip next week to get away from the smoke. We can only see a block or so because of the smoke. Looks like its snowing out side with all the ash from the forest fires around us. Washed the rig last weekend. Covered with about a 1/4th inch of ash each morning then the wind comes up and blowes it off. No way to get to the rig with out being covered in ash. Oh well, Oregon Coast here we come.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Measured the side for additional solar panels. There is not nearly as much room as I hoped. - Navy_SmokerExplorerDid an extensive inspection of the drive-train, brakes and tires in preparation of an extended trip and found that both of my rear brakes were locking-up and damaging the tires. Got it back from the shop today with new brake lines, calipers and pads, rotors and 4 new tires. I was lucky that I found the problems before we hit the road. I know the tires wouldn't have made the 4,000 mile trip.
Also had an air lift system added to all 4 wheels while it was in the shop and feel ready to take on the world. - HandbasketExplorerNot long after I bought the Tiger, I added a set of cab steps (remember, this is based on a 4x4 pickup). Regrettably, I dropped about $100 on a set of 'Rhino' brand spring-loaded steps. They came with next to no installation instructions. They also never worked well, since as your weight went onto them, they pivoted partway under the rocker panel as they went down on the spring. I worried that someone would step up on one unaware and get their lower shin bruised, or break an ankle. And the black paint job dropped off it big flakes within a few years, leaving a rusty mess.
A few days ago, I got around to looking for and finding some 'Bully' brand cab steps, stationary and in aluminum. $55 for the pair at Autozone. Today I pulled the Rhino cr*p off of the passenger's side, and replaced it with the Bully. Shoulda done it a long time ago. I lost the shade in the driveway, so I left the driver's side to do tomorrow AM.
Jim, "I couldn't fix your brakes, so I made your horn louder." - Navy_SmokerExplorerWe washed it top to bottom, (I forgot the roof was white!) and waxed it. On Friday I shampooed the carpet and replaced the pneumatic lift rods on the bed. We're almost ready for our dive trip to the Keys.
