What Ford chassis does my Holiday Rambler have?

This is a somewhat embarrassing question, and yes I did go through my earlier posts to see if it had been answered. My motorhome is a 1994 33' Holiday Rambler Vacationer with a 460 Ford V8 engine and a Ford chassis. I thought I had the Chassis type all sorted out, but now I'm not certain, and I'd like to be certain. The rig came with a small owners chassis manual for a Ford Super Duty, yet many people have referred to the Ford F53 chassis as being the chassis commonly used on this vintage HR. Does anyone know for certain what chassis I have?

I expect to be getting a consulting check soon and while I may not be working on the vehicle because of the brutal TX summer heat I will be purchasing parts in preparation for cooler fall weather, so this knowledge is of paramount importance to me.

    gotsmart,
thanks for alerting me to the obvious. I went to the FMC website, punched in my VIN and instantly learned that I have a 1994 Ford with an F530 chassis.
    Thanks again,

  • I want to express my thanks to those that have taken the time to help me with my questions. One would think I could read the owners manual that came with the rig and get my questions answered. Unfortunately, I don't think a more useless document has ever been published than my Holiday Rambler owners manual.
Thanks again for helping me sort this out.

  • Click here for owner.ford.com. If needed, create an account, enter the VIN into the vehicle profile. Ford will tell you about the chassis.
  • Go to www.carfax.com and enter your VIN or license/state and see what the VIN reports. You do NOT have to buy the reports to get the basic model info. In your case, it will likely come back as a "(year) FORD F530F SUPER DUTY" or similar, in other words, an F53 as the others have said.
  • Yes it is a Super Duty F53 chassis. Your coach may be a 1994 but the chassis could be a 93 or 94. Look underneath the right side and see if it has a round resonator (94) just behind the "Y" pipe or a oblong catalytic converter (93) just behind the "Y" pipe. The day will come when you need to know exactly the year of your chassis.

  • The motorhome version of the ford super duty is the F53 most things are in the same place.
