What year is this RV? Can the COACH VIN be checked?

At that age in actuality no difference in value by a year or even three as condition/mileage is everything and year is nothing. Blue Book listing or not.

I's be really skeptical of anyone who makes that claim. Can you give us some idea where you got this information? Doesn't seem realistic that there is that much depreciation difference in one year for a rig twenty years old. If it's the seller, walk away, or offer for the earlier model year value.

Manufacturers can build as early as January 2nd of the previous year. I.E they could have built 2015 vehicles starting Jan 2nd of 2014.
The two limitations are:
1) The model year must include the same calendar year. I.E. some 2015s must be built during 2015, right up to Dec. 31st if needed.
2) The model year cannot include two January 1sts, hence the Jan 2nd limit.

I have heard that anything built after May of a given year is titled as a new vehicle for the following year.

But in any case, we are all familiar with manufacturers coming out with new, say, 2015 cars in the fall of 2014, which means they were being built a couple months before that.

From my own experience, I had a custom Cube Van built up in 1984. I singed all the papers, made the deposit, and waited for the completed truck to be delivered. Utilimaster when they received the order built the box frame and shell and waited for delivery of the chassis. Ford and GM were going through the emission certification for mid and heavy chassis and were fighting having to add extra smog equipment like the smaller rigs. Well, the truck was delivered in December. Body was an '83, chassis "84, completed truck, '85. All paperwork through the DMV shows as an '85. Played heck with parts ordering without the actual VIN number.

What I am saying is, unless there is a nefarious reason for not clearly giving one a specific date, it makes no difference. You are looking at an eighteen year old rig, give or take a year. As far as I know, there is little difference in the chassis at that time.
