Where is the Fuse/Breaker ?

We have a 2007 Winn Voyage 38J on Workhorse W24 chassis. With the MH engine running I have no 12V on the 7-pin trailer connector to charge my Dinghy tow car battery.

I cannot find the fuse or breaker for this line. I checked the Workhorse owners manual fuse section and could not find it listed. There are several fuse blocks, which one? Does any one know which fuse it is? Or what the fuse is called in the table? What amp fuse?

Also, does this 12V remain hot all the time? Or only when the engine is running?

Many Thanks

On the W-22 there are 3 fuse blocks and as I recall two of 'em (possibly all three) have to do with that connector...

One is behind the parking brake pedal inside. This is LEAST LIKELY to have what yhou need
one is the Intelletec BCC and I'd give it "Best chance"
The thrid is the main chassis box. front dead center as you stand there with the hood up looking in.. flat black cover no markings. press to release trigures on the side.
  • There is most likely no wire run for that purpose. If you look at the 7 pin connector by opening the door- The pin just clockwise of the keyway is supposed to be the charge line. If you look at the back of the connector where the wires enter it, you will most likely find only a hole where the wire is supposed to go for that pin for the charge line.

This is the first time I have needed to use it, so I don't know if there has ever been power there or not. I checked and there are 7 wires in the harness on back of the connector. My rear end dragged entering a parking lot and ground the tow cable in half, so suspect that's when I shorted the 12V line. I need to find the fuse to replace it.

    Thanks

Check for an inline fuse on one of the batteries...

hotrodr is right, there is no wire attached to that terminal. Plus the Winn wiring schematic shows only 6 wires going to the 7pin connector. I will run a charge line with inline fuse from the battery. What a pain, wonder why they wouldn't wire the connector completely in the first place?

    Happy Camping !!

That being the case, it would make it much too easy for the customer and for a good dollar six eighty in loss of profit for them.

Because of guys like me. I will never have a toad or trailer tied to my engine charging system.
  • I just recently ran a 12 gauge wire with inline circuit breaker mounted in the battery bay to the 7 pin connector on our 2007 Itasca Suncruiser. It took some creative and careful routing to get it there. Now, I need to figure out how to get the wire connected to the 7 pin connector. The wires all unplug from the back of the connector, but how to attach the new wire is not obvious. Weather has not been cooperating either. I will get it figured out some day when the weather gets better and I have the time. If anyone else has done this, I would greatly appreciate knowing the trick and exactly what is needed. -- Mick
