I'm in the same situation as the original poster. My RV has 16" tires and based on the age code, they will be 7 years old this October. I've inspected the tires and they look brand new (only about 4,500 miles on them) with no visible exterior cracks. I'm not sure if there are any cracks on the inside, but I hate to pay to have them pulled off and check. My tires are not as expensive as the 19.5" or 22" tires, but still not cheap.
Given that information, Camping World was trying to sell me some Goodyear Wrangler tires. I'm not sure if these are any good or if anyone knows of a better/less expensive brand. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Go with Firestone Transforce HT. My GY that were on my coach when I bought it started blowing out at 5 years. 3 tires blew out over the next year and a half. I since have been using the Firestones and have been very pleased with them. They are nylon belted tires which are less prone to tread separation like a steel belted tire. They are a little softer ride, which is fine for me, but some may not like the sidewall flex. I run max pressure to reduce sidewall flex, even though I could run considerably lower. Even at max pressure, the ride comfort is much better than the GY.
