Window Tint

In most states (maybe all of them), tinting the windshield is forbidden. I think they do allow a small strip across the top to help with sun glare...but nothing directly in front of the driver.

Think sun glasses....

I assume you want something for heat/glare reduction while parked, that could be removed when driving.

If that's the case, something like this would work:

Static cling film at Lowe's

Gala tint at home depot

To clarify I am not looking to cover the entire windshield. I just want to cover the top so it reduces the glare and heat inside the rig.

What are the specifications for aftermarket window tinting?
For most vehicles, aftermarket tinting that registers at least 35% on a tint meter on side windows immediately adjacent to the driver and front passenger seats, and side windows immediately to the rear of the operator and passenger, is acceptable. The rear window may be tinted to the 35% level, but the vehicle must be equipped with two outside rear view mirrors. The windshield may only be tinted down to the AS-1 line, which is usually located in the uppermost (6) inches of the windshield.

So, be careful what you apply, or you'll be removing it at inspection time.

Does your motorhome have fold-down tinted plastic visors for the driver & passenger? Ours does and we use them quite frequently.

Full windshield tint will be illegal in all states.
A strip at the top will be legal in most.

One time, while driving in Arizona, I saw a guy driving his MH towards the sun. He had the outside windshield cover in place while driving. You know the ones with all the tiny holes in them that allow you some privacy when parked? Yeah that was how he was rolling down the highway.
