Having delt multiple times with a windshield that keeps coming out on the corners in a cross wind or being pushed in during a headwind we are finally considering delivering the unit back to the factory for repair. Any one out here have a similar issue ? The closest dealer for Newmar as well as the factory suggest this may be the only option left. Hire a driver, drive it ourselves, either way I see big dollars flying out of our pockets !

If you take it to the factory and they do ANY changes to the structure, indicating that an error was made at the factory, I would guess that you have a good case for re-reimbursement, regardless of warranty expiration date. A mistake is a mistake and not readily uncovered during the VERY VERY short warranty period. Unless the windshield was out, NO inspection could uncover a hole that was cut too large or a flange that was not left large enough during construction. I would insist on watching/filming the entire repair.

9 year old unit, they will not give goodwill repair. If you are the original owner, they "may" help, but probably not. If you are NOT the original owner, they will give no consideration. Do you know if the resets on the windshield they used URETHANE sealant? IF NOT, that is one of your problems. You must use Urethane, not any other type sealant(silicone and such). Did you have a history of this problem 10 years ago when the unit was new and in its 3 year warranty? Doug

Is your Newmar a 2005? If so, I would not take it back to the factory. There is a closer place in Eugene, Washington called RV Glass Solutions. They specialize only in replacing glass in RV's. They do not mechanical work, no service and do not sell RV's.The gentleman's name who helped us was Dave Beaty. Their phone number is 1-888-777-67787. Our MH had a one piece windshield that had popped out. The windshield became cracked when another glass dealer Nevada tried to replace just the gasket. RV Glass was very professional; they took many measurements to insure the windshield opening was within spec. We never had another problem with the windshield after they replaced it. Thanks for these replies.. I'm going to check out a couple options . This issue we have was from day one. We had bought it used (only a year old) and it was still under warrantee. The factory knows and has records of our earlier complaints.

We've not had any problems with our 2004 and haven't heard of any problems from other owners. Lucky you!

Do you ever have to do any extreme leveling? If you bought it used perhaps the previous owner did something extreme to get the frame out of kilter. Do you level the MH before putting out slides? Perhaps a twisting of the frame can effect the windshield. Does the windshield keep being replaced by the same facility?

Have you tried going on the Newmar forum and asking the question to Kountry Star owners to see if there's a problem with that year? Or iRV2 has a good forum, also. The factory is known for it's good service. Good luck to you.

Did they use urethane when they reset?
You don't answer MY questions (Newmar Dealer tech), so I think maybe you are the problem. You want help, you go to a forum and then don't answer pertinent questions. I don't understand people that do not respond to people trying to help. As to the lawyer, you really think after 10 years (AND 2nd owner) a lawyer will be cost effective? Regardless of being IN warranty when you purchased, you are STILL a 2nd owner, and 2nd owners do NOT have the same standing as an original owner. Doug

You stated that BOTH your Newmar dealer AND the Factory stated you will probably have to return it to the factory, so WHY are you still trying to contac the factory????? When you call or E mail, do you give them the VIN or Newmar serial number? THAT is required for them to respond. The Newmar S/N is either a 5 digit or 6 digit number on the VIN wall tag.
