Winegard Video Selector Box

We recently purchased a 2004 Holiday Rambler. It came equipped with the Winegard Video Selector Box, has the crank-up Winegard antenna, and a Winegard Stationary and in-motion Satellite Dish. The Box won't turn on. We have checked all the fuses and breakers; all are good. Would there be an in-line fuse somewhere? Yes I have disconnected the antenna coax and it still doesn't work. Can't get power to the antenna to check the head. The TV has power and is wired into a +12v box. The Video Box is wired into the same +12v box.

Additionally, the dash radio and the 12 volt fans on the windshield don't work either so I'm wondering if they could all be on the same circuit?

Thanks,
deb
  • found the power problem. Why would a dome light bypass be used to power the video selector box? i found a wiring diagram for a Jeep Wrangler dome light bypass in the owners file. it ends in two flat wire connectors, and the hanging extra red wire from the video sector box gets power from it apparently...I plugged it in and it works. so does the satellite, which rotated till I turned off the switch.

It's in the Troubleshooting List for the video box to test for a short. It also says to disconnect it at the antenna with the booster on for the same reason. I can't get power to the antenna because the Box won't turn on.

yes you already said such. Most likely the fuse is blown. fix the radio fuse and fan fuse as suggested it could (as I suggested) very well fix your problem. then go from there
Remember as I told u the 12V only runs the OTA antenna the box controls are all manual

What do you mean when you say the box won't turn on? Is there an on/off button on the front of the video control box itself? Does it have a modulator button (CH 3/4)?

  • Never thought of that, pretty rare but certainly possible
to the OP take a test lite and check for power at the 12 volt in feed wire.
or like I said fix the fan/radio fuses and see if red lite come on

what would make u think disconnecting the antenna coax would make it work?(just curious)
The fuse that runs dash radio and fans may or may not be.Best try that avenue first. Now if its the box iam thinking of you only need 12 Volts to power the OTA antenna The box switches manually just like a AB switch

If you have a short in cable from the Antenna head to the booster or booster video box, that would keep it from working. That does not always blow the fuse, just keeps the light from operating. Doug
